2012 (IFL/Wpg): A towering receiver with great hands, Doug Pierce’s tall-frame and impressive work ethic made a big impression on the coaching staff as he spent the first 15 weeks of the season on the practice roster before starting his first game at wide receiver on Oct 19/12 against the Toronto Argonauts. His spectacular 35-yard over-the-shoulder catch was one of that game’s highlights and helped cement him as the starter in the regular season finale where he caught two more passes for 24 yards. Prior to signing with Winnipeg, Pierce suited up for the Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League where he recorded 38 receptions for 505 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Friends Falcons (NAIA): Pierce recorded 91 receptions for 1,693 yards and 20 touchdowns in two seasons at Friends University after transferring from West Texas. As a senior, he led the team in receiving with 904 yards which was 15th best in the NAIA.
